Synagogue as A Warehouse

The Maisel Synagogue, built and named for the 16th Century Mayor of the Jewish Town of Prague, has been fully renovated. It was the home of the birth of liberal Judaism in the 19th Century.

During the Holocaust, this building served as one of the seven synagogues and 50 warehouses receiving over 150,000 Judaic objects, cloth, books and paintings gathered in Prague. The objects and art were gathered for use in antisemitic exhibitions.
